A manufacturer of patient examination tables recognized a need to minimize the discomfort to gowned patients from lying on a cold examination table. Thermo's solution incorporated a combination of materials from its HIFLEX technology and a leading edge conductive polyamide film element. Because of the medical environment, the heating element included redundant over-temp safety devices that did not interfere with the operation of the product.
The customer, recognizing the value of Thermo's South Carolina location, allowed Thermo to supply the tabletop complete to its final assembly line. This saved both manufacturing and transportation costs for the customer. |
