Manufacturing & Design Engineer

This is not a desk job!  The Thermo Team is looking for an enthusiastic, hands-on Manufacturing & Design Engineer to engage in all areas of the manufacturing and design processes for flexible heating elements.  Thermo works in a vast array of industries from space-based satellite systems to consumer electronics, to automotive, and white goods.  Thermo engineers are tasked with designing components that meet specific demands that are both technically challenging and system-critical.  The position will ultimately have responsibility for managing all aspects of product realization, from design and planning through quality control.  

Thermo, founded in Ingolstadt, Germany over 50 years ago, is a small, family-oriented light manufacturing company that has its engineering roots in the automotive industry.  We have been in Piedmont, SC since 1999 and our product offering has grown to include a wide range of heating technologies, which have been incorporated by leading companies throughout the world.

Expected hours of work

The hours required for the position are consistent with completion of tasks and duties. Standard office hours are 7:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday thru Friday and 7:00 am to 2:00 pm on Friday.  Additional time may be required as needed for the completion of tasks and duties.  Hours can be flexible if necessary, depending upon ability to complete required duties.

Assembly Specialists

We are looking for team members with a very high level of dexterity to work in the winding department.  Job skills are very similar to those required by a seamstress, tailor, or assembler.  Related hobbies are crafting, sewing, needlepoint, carpentry, etc.   Candidates must have excellent manual dexterity and be able to work quickly and accurately. The ability to use small tools and work with intricate parts is essential. Attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment are also required. No experience is necessary.  Great hours and benefits.

General Assembly

We are looking for team members with good hand-eye coordination to work in various workstations.   The job requires good vision, finger dexterity, and basic math skills.   No experience is necessary.  Great hours and benefits.  Attention to detail and staying focused in a manufacturing environment are also required.

Facilities Maintenance / Printer’s Assistant

We’re hiring a Printer’s Assistant to help run an automatic screen printing press for electronics.  This individual will also oversee much of the required facilities maintenance projects within the facility.  Experience is not required as training will be provided, but a willingness and ability to work with focus and care are mandatory.
